Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are allied health professionals with the highest level of training for prescribing exercise to individuals.

AEPs are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

AEPs are recognised with Medicare Australia, most Private Health Insurers, NSW Workers Compensation Scheme and Compulsory Third Party Insurance regulated by The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA).

What you may run through at your first consultation with an exercise physiologist:

  • Thorough history taking and prescreening
  • Anthropometry and body composition
  • Biomechanical assessment
  • Strength, flexibility and endurance testing
  • Long and short term goal setting
  • Self Management strategies
  • Education on training efficiency and efficacy
  • Programming and exercise prescription
Exercise physiology isn’t just about the physical improvements that we see when we exercise, it is also about a change in both your lifestyle and the way you perceive and perform movements in everyday life. There are many things that happen as we are communicating with our bodies that we can’t see and to train our movements is to strengthen this communication process between us and our bodies. The better the communication, the more pain free, faster and stronger our bodies are.
